HUNGRY PRISONERS

Today I was surfing the internet and found an interesting story. I found this story in http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1389697.html, it speaks about how a prison guard was held hostage and then released after "a ransom demand for pizzas was met." The guard was held hostage for two days. When he was released he went home to recover.

Now this story was pretty funny in my opinion. Having this Australian prison guard held hostage is no laughing matter, but the reason why they released him is. After holding him hostage "over conditions in the maximum security jail" and being released for pizzas was the most hilarious thing i have ever heard. I mean I believe that the warden did a very good job on negotiating with the prisoners. Only giving them pizzas, garlic bread, and soda instead of the 24 demands they asked for is a very good deal for the warden. Even though some people may disagree, I believe that they should improve the conditions in the jail. Not for the prisoners, but so situations like this won't happen again. We wouldn't want the hostage to became the non-living. I do find this story funny because I have never heard something like this ever in my life. As soon as I read it I couldn't stop laughing. Just the thought of a prison guard released for 15 pizzas is a humorous thought.

  2. I agree that the demand should have been met, but how did this prisoner that the guard hostage, that I don't understand. I'm glad that this turn out being a good situation.

  3. While the humor here is obvious, I also can't help wondering at the lack of control the administration must have on this prison's population. Not only was it possible for the inmates to hold someone hostage, but their demands were met. What will stop them from doing it again, with a far more violent outcome?
